This fabulous little Gold Coast star has a wide range of followers and fans!
Meet Alfie Brown.
Alfie’s mum Jayde describes Alfie in this way:
“Alfie, you are the sweetest, happiest little bundle that has changed our lives in such a positive way. You have been through so much in such a short time, but never cease to amaze and inspire your parents every single day! You’re the biggest little weirdo and we love you more and more every minute (how is this even possible?!)” But it’s true!”
Mum Jayde did everything right with her ‘baby on board’ as she carried Alfie to term. Then, during childbirth Alfie suffered a brain injury which caused her to have cerebral palsy. Following her birth Alfie was also diagnosed with microcephaly, global development delay and hearing loss which requires her to wear hearing aids.
Despite her determination, Alfie’s cerebral palsy restricts her from simple movements which we all take for granted (sitting, standing, walking etc). Currently Alfie is involved in daily at-home therapies, regular and ongoing therapist and specialist appointments. And of course regular stories from her doting daddy!
Jayde and Reece have no idea what the future holds for Alfie and her abilities, but naturally they want to do everything they can to give her the best head start possible. In line with this goal Jayde and Reece plan to take Alfie overseas for Stem Cell Therapy. This medical treatment is unfortunately not available in Australia as yet so they are traveling to Mexico where the stem cell treatment is having good results with some of the things Alfie suffers from. This type of treatment does not come cheap for this young Gold Coast couple but as we all know – there is nothing we would not do for those we love. Jayde and Reece were also lucky enough to secure a spot for a 3 week Intensive Therapy Program at the NAPA centre.
NAPA centre Intensive Therapy Program: This therapy is a huge commitment for Alfie and her parents (physically, emotionally and financially). 3 hours a day / 5 days a week / 3 weeks. As parents, Jayde and Reece know that this is the right path to help Alfie.
I encourage the readers of this story to spread the word among friends and family and encourage any and all donations (not matter how small). Every dollar can make a difference. As Mum Jayde explains: “Please know that your contribution is going towards the most deserving little girl who is loved by so many. Reece and I thank you beyond measure”.
A GoFundMe page has been set up and I encourage our larger Gold Coast family to Help Alfie reach her financial goal. Even if it’s just the amount it would cost you for a cup of coffee, it is all a tremendous help this young Gold Coast family.
